Q.
Where is your church?
A. We meet on Sundays at 11 am at Franklin Community Middle School located at 625 Grizzly Cub Drive in Franklin, on (US 31). Click here for
more information about worship gatherings. Our Office and Conference Center is located 55 1/2 East Court
Street in downtown Franklin, on the east side of the courthouse. We are currently
offering a couple of Bible studies; one is designed for people
who want a basic understanding of the Bible and Christianity,
and the other one is a more in-depth study of the Bible. Click
here if you'd like to check out either of these studies.
Q. What kind of church are you?
A. Journey Church is an intern-denominational / non-denominational,
Bible-teaching church that centered on Jesus Christ and the Bible. Our services are casual, modern, and relevant. Our people come from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life. For more information about our worship services, click here. For information
about what we believe, click

Q. What is your church like?
A. Our weekend worship
features a warm, friendly, casual atmosphere with upbeat music
and teaching that is relevant and applicable to your life,
to enable you to experience God in a real way. We strive to
be a place where nobody feels like an "outsider." That
means we don't dress up, we don't use Christian jargon and
we don't judge people by their appearance. It is our desire
to have people from all walks of life in our church, and we
want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome. We are inter-denominational. We have people in our church from many different denominational backgrounds.
Q. What do you have for children during church?
A. During our worship celebrations our KidZone offers learning opportunities for children from pre-K
to sixth grade, and we have a nursery for children up to pre-K years old. All adults working in the children's area have had state police background checks.
Q. What is the teaching like?
A. The messages are expository (which
simply means they will bring out the meaning of a particular
text or passage), relevant (you can relate it to
your life situation) and applicable (you can apply
it to your life). Sometimes we work through an entire
book of the Bible and other times we discuss current
topics and issues which might incorporate passages from more
than one book at a time.
Q. Where do your sermons/messages come from?
A. All of the messages presented at Journey Church are original and written from scratch, after in-depth study of the Bible. We do not purchase sermon transcripts or copy messages from other churches. We do network with other churches for ideas and inspiration, so we might use the same or a similar title for a message or series, but we always develop our own messages. We do not believe it is appropriate to present someone else's sermon or teaching, especially when it's done as if it is your own with no indication that it is not original.
Q. Do you do Communion?
A. Yes. We have Communion once a month. For more information, clck here.
Q. Do you baptize?
A. Yes. For information about baptism at Journey Church, click here.
Q. When and where does Journey Church meet?
A. We currently have a Sunday morning
worship service and, eventually, we will be having a Saturday
evening worship service as well. We meet 11 am at Franklin Community Middle School, on US 31. For a map to the school, click here.
Q. What do you believe?
A. You can read about what we believe by
clicking here.
Q. What title does Jim Clayton use (e.g. Pastor, Reverend)?
A. We're not into titles around here, so he just goes by "Jim." Parents can decide how they want their children to address him, but most kids just call him Jim as well.
Q. Aren't there enough churches in Franklin already?
A. By our count there are over forty churches
in Franklin, and we celebrate that, because it takes a variety of churches to reach a variety of people. However, even with all those churches the majority
of people in Franklin are not actively involved in church.
We started Journey to fill in the gaps
that currently exist in the Franklin area.
Q. Is Journey Church a United
Methodist Church, Baptist
Church, Christian Church, Church
of Christ or Vineyard Church?
A. We are "non of of the above." Although
we have a lot in common with each of those denominations, we
have some important differences as well. We are an interdenominational
church. We welcome people from all backgrounds, and we don't check denomination cards at the door. To learn more about what we believe,
