- The Bible - The Bible
consisting of the sixty six books of the Old and New Testaments
is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in
the original manuscripts, written under the Inspiration
of the Holy Spirit, the complete revelation of His will
for the salvation of man, and having supreme authority
in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Tim. 3:16-17; II
Pet. 1:21; 1 Cor. 2:13; Mark 12:26-36; Mark 13:11; Acts
1:16 and 2:4).
- The Trinity - There
is One living and true God eternally existing in three
Persons, that They are equal in every divine perfection
and that They execute distinct but harmonious offices in
the work of creation, providence and redemption (Mark
12:29; John 1:1-4; Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 13:14;
Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 1:4-6).
- God the Father - God the
Father is an Infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness,
wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns
Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears
and answers prayers and that He saves from sin and death
all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:4-14;
Psalm 90:1-12; John 8:48-59; 1 Sam. 2:1-2; Lev. 11:44-45;
1 John 4:7-10; 1 Thess. 4:9-12).
- Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is
God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We
believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and
teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning
death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual
intercession for His people and personal, visible return
to earth (Col. 1:15; Phil. 2:5-8; Matt. 1:18-25; I Pet.
2:24-25; Luke 24; Heb. 4:14-16; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thess. 4:16-18;
Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 11:15-17; Rev. 20:4-6 and 11-15).
- The Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit came
forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin,
righteousness and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify
and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We
believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in
Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide
(John 7:38-39; John 14:16-17; John 15:26; John 16:13-14;
Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:9; Phil. 3:3).
- Man – Man was created
in the image and likeness of God, but he sinned and thereby
incurred not only physical but also spiritual death which
is separation from God. Man can restore his relationship
with God only through God’s provision for his sin. (Gen
1:16-27; Rom. 5:12; John 14:6).
- Salvation/Regeneration - Those who accept
Jesus Christ as Lord and believe Him to be their Savior
are regenerated by the Holy Spirit (John 5:24; John 17:23;
Acts 13:39; Rom. 5:1; Rom. 6:1; Eph. 2:4-13; 1 John 4:17,
5:11-12).
- Eternal Security - It
is the privilege not only of some, but of all who are born
again by the Spirit through faith in Christ as revealed
in the scriptures, to be assured of their salvation from
the very day they take Him to be their Savior; and that
this assurance is not founded upon their own worthiness,
but wholly upon the testimony of God in His written Word
(Luke 10:20; Luke 12:32; John 6:47; Rom. 8:38-39; 2 Cor.
5:1; 2 Cor. 6:8; 2 Tim. 1:12; 1 John 5:13).
- The Church - We believe in the universal
church: a living spiritual body of which Christ is the
head and all true believers in Christ are members. We
believe in the local church: consisting of a company of
believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession
of faith and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We
believe that God has laid upon the members of the local
church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ
to a lost world (Matt.6:16-18; Acts 2:32-47; Rom. 12:5;
I Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:20-23; Eph. 4:3-10; Col. 3:14-15).
- Baptism and Communion - Jesus
has committed two ordinances to the local church:
baptism and the Communion. We
believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer
in water in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matt.3:16; John 3:23; Acts 8:36-39; Rom. 6:3-5; Col. 2:12)
Believers are commanded to be baptized, not as an element
of salvation but as a public demonstration of the salvation
which has already taken place (Rom. 10:8-10; Eph. 2:8-9;
John 3:16-18). We believe that Communion is the commemoration
of Jesus' death until He returns. It is not a barrier
to separate believers, but rather a sacred place where
all true Christ followers meet. (Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor.
11:23-28) We believe these two ordinances are to
be observed and administered until the return of Jesus
Christ.
